These films were all realised after 2010 meaning they are recent, still very popular films. Both 'The Purge' and 'The Woman in Black' use a solid white font colour as it makes the name of the film stand out much more. This contrasts the usual connotations of the colour white as we usually associated white with innocence, purity and goodness, which is not what will be found in a horror film. Whereas 'The Conjuring' uses the colour black which is more associated with horror as it connotes evil, death and mystery. The font used for 'The Purge' is very simple and bold similarly to the titles previously analysed from 1970's. This leaves the viewer thinking more about the meaning of the title and what it could suggest happens during the film. However both 'The Woman in Black' and 'The Conjuring' use a much curlier, creepy font making the audience think that the film will involve some sort of super-natural event.
The name of the films also differs to the horror films before the 1970s as they do not allow the audience to discover much about the film simply by reading the title. With the exception of a few the majority of the older horror films tell you what the film is going to be about in the title without leaving much up to the imagination.
The pictures used for the front cover are all very creepy and scary. 'The Purge' uses a very scary close up shot allowing the viewer to assume that this person plays a key part in the film. 'The Woman in Black' cover has a child's face on it with someone else's hands over their eyes. This makes is more scary as we can see the innocence of the child being taken away, also everyone knows a child that they can relate to subconsciously. 'The Conjuring' has a picture of a location which we assume is the main location for the film, as it is covered in fog it makes it appear more scary and as if someone/something has taken over it.
