Titles Research

All of these three films very made before the 1980s all from genre of horror. As you can see the titles are all very similar, they use a bold simple font with only one solid colour used. The colour red for the title of 'Jaws' connotes blood and danger suggesting that during this film there will be blood. 'The Shining' is a solid black colour connoting more of a mysterious effect giving the audience no hint as to what the film is going to be about. 'Psycho' is older than the two other films and was made in 1960, you can tell from the title that this film is more vintage. These titles are all very plain making it more eye catching to the viewer, allowing them to discover what the film is about themselves.
The pictures that accompany the title give the viewer a slight hint as to what is going on however does not reveal all. In particular 'The Shining' just has a mans face on the cover, this man looks a bit crazy so the viewer can assume that they are the antagonist. These could all be improved in different ways in particular psycho as the only clue you get about the film is the name, on the front cover there could be the antagonist or an idea of the location just to give the audience a clearer idea as to what is going to happen. However the cover of 'Jaws' gives a clear idea as to what that film is about but may not illustrate the fact that its a horror film.
